We had a nice bright sunny day for departure! We were moored just down from USS Midway and had a great view of the San Diego skyline from our patio
For this trip, we spring for the extra $$ and got a balcony stateroom! No bigger than an interior cabin but with a lot better view!
We had on board "Ambassadors" from Mexico to try to expose us to some of the culture of the country we would soon encounter. This man had a great voice and entertained us with many songs
A dance duo also did many traditional Mexican dances including one with masks so as to appear old and feeble

Then they shifted to traditional fishing dances

Second night at sea was our first Gala dining night! We were joined on our trip by Bob's life long friend Mike Ewing and his wife Janet.

Mike was Best Man at our wedding 50 years ago and is of Scottish origin. He enjoyed wearing his kilt at Gala night!
Our Captain appeared on the Main Stage to offer a toast for our voyage
Then the Oosterdam Singers and Dancers regaled us with hit music from the 50's on
including, of course those wacky 60's
And of course, what would a cruise be without towel animals!
