Monday Oct 6, 2011, we begin our latest adventure as we fly to New York to catch a ride on the largest jet liner in the world - the Airbus 380! |
This airplane is huge with two full decks but gives a very smooth ride! |
Traveling is more fun with a fun companion! |
We descended through cloud cover and found Paris wet, but hey, it's Paris!!! |
Theresa made sure our bags were loaded while I tagged a couple of seats on the bus. We experienced our first traffic jam while driving into Paris - a 15 mile drive in about 1 1/2 hours! |
One of our first sights in Paris is - - - that's right , George Washington! |
But soon after, we see the Arc de Triumph with a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier |
On the way in we passed the famous Moulon Rouge. |
Mass was at St Vincent de Paul - one of many famous Parisian Saints! A large gap follows - I have no idea why! I just figured out the captions thing. Be patient - my posts will improve (I hope) |
The interior is beautiful! |
Our guide on this journey is Fr Mitch Pacwa, EWTN personality. His homilies are very thought provoking and he is easy going and a great guide. |
Near the church is an image of St Vincent de Paul on the side of a building. |
The Opera |
St Mary Magdelene |
A driving tour of Paris took us past many of the primary sights! |
And of course, and the Eiffel Tower. (By the way, this is the view from just outside our hotel next to Gare Mount Parnasse!!!) |
And the Seine River |
A stroll along Champs Elysee with dinner in a restaurant about six blocks for the Arc |
