New Orleans

We had a fabulous view of Pensacola Bay from the Navy Lodge.

But it was a little cold!

We signed on the internet for one last check of emails and I discovered one from David that said he would try to contact us through gmail voice chat in an hour! Theresa quickly checked her gmail account and downloaded the necessary software just in time! We chatted with David for almost an hour! What a treat! He says he'll be able to do this periodically!!! :-)

We then drove to New Orleans and checked in to - what else - the Navy Lodge! This one is closing next summer as the base ceases to be a Navy Base.
Following a suggestion from TripAdvisor.com, we made reservations at Louisiana Bistro in the French Quarter. It is a nice place which can seat only about 75 people.

We opted to let the chef make all our choices with three courses.
Chef Mars visited our table and asked if we had any allergies or dislikes. We told him we were ready for anything!
He started with one of our favorites! Frogs legs!! Breaded with a wonderful mixture and napped with a spicy but sweet sauce.

For the second course, chef created a pan seared trout (locally caught) on a bed of mixed greens and "Pot Licker" sauce. Fabulous - again!

For the final course, Chef Mars created a sausage stuffed pork loin, seared and then baked to perfection! Served over a bed of jambalaya!

Pricey but well worth it!
